Lots of staff asked for wellbeing support during the survey we did at the start of this project, so we setup an extra session to further support staff. Led by Coach Lisa this was a deeply immersive experience that took the participants from thrive to survive.
One of the attendees from the previous staff training talked a lot about how those sessions had helped her. She now does mindful breathing in the car on her way to work which is amazing and she also talked about how the teachers talk about what we did in that session, talking about glimmers, mindful breathing and lots of other tools.
To start the session we said “thank you for coming” and she said “no, thank you for doing what you are doing we’ve never had this kind of support in school before” so that was really kind feedback.
During the session one of the participants talked about negative effects of them in a office with no windows and bright strobe type lighting, after the session we provided some ideas to support this. Since having the conversation this staff member has fed back that they have moved their office furniture which has dramatically helped them to feel better they are having less headaches and feel much better in themselves and less isolated now they are facing the door and can see people.
“I feel so much better in myself I’m so glad you suggested this thank you”.
A reminder that small change can have big impact.
