Bringing Our “In the Wild” Magic to Reception Children

What we love about our “In the Wild” tools is how adaptable they are for our coaches, and this month Laura had a wonderful time bringing them to the reception children at St Nicholas School. Sharing the wonders of nature with these young learners is always such a joy!

One piece of teacher feedback that truly stood out was from Mrs. O’Hare, “this is amazing how calm they are. In lessons, some of them won’t sit and do mark making, they just don’t sit and do it”. Laura told me how she had everybody, the entire class, even the ones who have a few issues focussing, they were all sitting quietly just painting with the mud and water on the grass and they absolutely loved it. Exactly the impact we typically see – the power of nature!

Listen to Feedback from Reception Teacher: Mrs O’Hare (LOVE IT):

“Really enjoyed our sessions have been wonderful for the children to get outdoors and experiencing it and just having a bit of freedom, but also how clever all the activities have been, um, all about them building their confidence and their self-esteem and having strategies to keep calm, but in a really fun way so that they almost don’t realise they’re doing them. Jst a great variety of activities, mini den making and mud painting and just going to collect things in the woods and then linking it into their different feelings. So thank you. It’s been fantastic. At the start of it? They were all whipped up and chasing around and we couldn’t couldn’t get them all quiet at the same time. And then we just did the mud painting. It was just a transformation and they were all calm and painting and focused. So yeah, it’s brilliant.”
