It was a real pleasure to be invited back again to Alderbrook Secondary School as part of their community Teacher Training Day, where they invite educators from all the feeder primary schools. Educators could sign up to various sessions throughout the day and we hosted one on outdoor learning, where we gave participants a taste of our In the Wild Tools.

Community and Connection at Alderbrook

It was an incredible atmosphere—I love how Alderbrook brings together educators from the school and all their feeder primaries. Seeing a whole community of educators coming together sharing ideas and growing together is really special.

What stood out most was the impact on the teachers’ own well-being. Despite it being a bit crisp (and even snowing), the power of nature combined with our well-being tools grounded everyone. There was so much laughter and so many smiles. One teacher even shared in their feedback:

“The others staff thought we were crazy coming outside today, but you know what it feels fantastic I’ve loved it. I can already think of so many of our students who would really benefit from these sessions” Primary School Staff Member

“I loved how peaceful it was and how kind the staff were. I have been using my glimmer book everyday since the Inset day with my family! It’s brought us altogether at the end of our days to share small moments of joy as one, it’s so nice to reflect on our days-despite if it wasn’t all joyful. Thank you for introducing me to glimmers!”

A few Glimmers* from the session participants.

Nature has an incredible way of recharging us when we most need it.
